EY has launched a new solution to support governments and healthcare providers as they distribute Covid-19 vaccines.
Built using multiple Microsoft technologies, including Azure, Dynamics 365, Power BI and the Power Platform, the EY Vaccine Management Solution aims to provide visibility into the supply chain and analytics for vaccine allocation. For example, it offers registration capabilities for patients and providers, phased scheduling, and management dashboards with analytics and forecasting.
“Through our alliance with Microsoft, we will provide state and local governments with technological enablement for their vaccination efforts – enablement that encompasses all aspects of this intricate process, including distribution, procurement, logistics and tracking,” said Brad Duncan,
US State, local and education leader at EY. “We understand the significance of this effort and believe that this collaboration with Microsoft will not only have a positive societal impact but help to reframe our future post-pandemic.”
EY has also developed the Vaccine Analytics Solution, which uses Covid-19 data to understand vaccine uptake in specific populations and geographies. EY says “it is designed to be the cornerstone of long-term effective planning and execution across the vaccine value chain”.
“By leveraging real-time insights and Microsoft technologies, these EY solutions address the complexities and challenges associated with Covid-19 vaccine administration and enable public health agencies and healthcare providers to safely and proficiently manage the distribution of the now and soon-to-be-available vaccines,” said David Rhew, chief medical officer at Microsoft.
EY has begun implementing the Vaccine Management Solution in Georgia, USA, and is preparing to launch in Tennessee and Oklahoma.
