IKEA Bulgaria has launched an artificial intelligence chatbot assistance powered by Microsoft’s OpenAI GPT-4 technology.
The chatbot, named Sofia, will allow customers to ask questions regarding products, online order status, store information and more.
Future developments will also allow Sofia to connect shoppers with customer service agents who can resolve more complex issues.
“We are delighted to be the tech partner of choice for IKEA and provide solutions that can enhance the overall brand experience,” said Yanna Andronopoulou, Microsoft general manager for Greece, Cyprus and Malta. “This new chatbot is only one example of how AI can transform the entire consumer journey making it more convenient and enjoyable; one example of the formidable position we are in to deliver on our promise for impactful AI transformation that helps our customers achiever more and grow.”
House Market SA, which developed the project, will expand it to IKEA sites in Greece and Cyprus in 2024.
