Microsoft is to showcase its Azure OpenAI GPT-4o Realtime Application Programming Interface for speech and audio on RealWear devices at ADIPEC Exhibition and Conference, which is taking place in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates until 7 November 2024.

The technology is part of the GPT-4o model family which supports fast ‘speech in, speech out’ conversational-style interactions and is designed to aid live interactions between users, specifically customer support agents, voice assistants and real-time translators.

This rollout builds upon a long-standing partnership between Microsoft and RealWear, which specialises in hands-free, wearable computing solutions for frontline workers. Microsoft Teams has been available on RealWear since 2020 and in June 2024 Power Apps was made available on RealWear devices and in the RealWear marketplace.

Attendees of ADIPEC can head to the Microsoft booth (stand 16) in the AI Pavilion at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre to see the GPT-4o Realtime technology on RealWear devices for themselves.
