Varonis is showcasing how its cloud data security capabilities can help organisations to manage Microsoft Azure databases at Microsoft Ignite.
The solution is designed to support IT and security teams with storing sensitive data in the Azure cloud.
“To protect data in Azure databases, you first need to know the type of sensitive data you have and where it lives,” said Nathan Coppinger, Varonis’s product marketing manager. “Varonis automatically discovers and classifies sensitive data stored across your entire cloud environment, including managed and unmanaged Azure databases, containers and blobs.”
Once the sensitive data is detected, Varonis helps to close security gaps and misconfigurations to protect against risks caused by broad guest invitation permissions, missing password policies and default users with too many permissions.
Varonis also monitors activity across Azure databases, containers, blobs and broader cloud environments to detect and respond to active threats. It then maps each alert so IT teams can understand the attack context and impact.
