Microsoft will invest PLN 2.8 billion ($700 million) in Poland to expand cloud, AI and cybersecurity infrastructure by June 2026. The investment will enhance existing data centres by introducing Azure services.

“This is an investment in our future, security, young people, startups and scientists,” said Donald Tusk, Poland’s Prime Minister. “It will give Poles, especially the younger generation, access to the world’s best tools and opportunities.”

Microsoft will also collaborate with Poland’s Ministry of National Defence to strengthen cybersecurity, focusing on AI, cloud and quantum computing.

“We value Poland’s critical role in the European Union and are committed to helping protect its cybersecurity and resilience,” said Brad Smith, Microsoft’s vice president and president. “Microsoft’s investment in the data centre is a vote of confidence in Poland’s leadership and economy. Our goal is to deliver the most advanced AI infrastructure to every sector of the Polish economy, strengthening the country’s economic competitiveness.”

This initiative builds on Microsoft’s presence in Poland, where it launched Central and Eastern Europe’s first cloud computing region in 2023. Between 2020 and 2023, Microsoft trained 430,000 Poles in digital skills and now aims to train one million more by the end of 2025.
