Data management provider AvePoint has added new data recovery capabilities to its Cloud Backup solution for Microsoft Azure. The new features will help users to mitigate risk, protect business-critical applications and drive productivity.

According to data from Statista, Microsoft Azure now accounts for over 20 per cent of all public cloud spending. With this increased use of Microsoft’s cloud platform, AvePoint’s new offering aims to help businesses protect their stored data.

“The need for a disaster recovery plan covering multiple clouds and workloads has unfortunately become abundantly clear with surging data breaches and ransomware attacks in the past few years,” said John Peluso, chief product officer at AvePoint. “With the addition of Microsoft Azure backup, we now ensure that wherever business critical data lives, it is frequently backed up, and can be quickly accessed and restored. That way, organisations reduce their overall risk and boost productivity.”

The addition of Microsoft Azure Backup as part of Cloud Backup includes full and incremental backup every six hours, to ensure minimal data-loss risk; cloud-to-cloud backup, which enables users to store data in AvePoint’s Azure Storage or a private cloud; time or object-based restores, which can be adjusted based on the scope of the backup within minutes; and full fidelity recovery.
