Build 2019: Microsoft tech to improve election and voting security

At this year’s Build event, Microsoft outlined how it is using technology to make the election and voting process more secure.

ElectionGuard is a free open-source software development kit, created with computer science solution provider Galois, to offer security and public verifiability for elections. It also offers guidance and the tools to build more accessible voting systems in the future. It will be available this summer on GitHub.

Microsoft 365 for Campaigns, meanwhile, simplifies security for political organisations through specialised wizards. The solution also builds on the AccountGuard threat-detection and nation-state attack notification service that Microsoft released in 2018. Microsoft 365 for Campaigns will be available in June.
