Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC), a group of businesses that operates across the retail and financial services sectors, has partnered with Microsoft to use Microsoft Azure to accelerate innovation in Canada’s retail industry.

During the seven-year partnership, CTC will migrate its IT infrastructure to Azure and use the cloud platform to modernise its systems to increase the efficiency of its business operations. It will also co-innovate with Microsoft and explore how artificial intelligence and machine learning can enhance the customer experience and optimise operations for Canadian retailers.

CTC will also capitalise on Microsoft’s expertise to upskill its employees.

“Today’s technology and AI advancements are helping unlock innovation across the industry – opening the door for retailers to reimagine the shopping experience for their customers,” said Judson Althoff, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Microsoft. “With Microsoft as its strategic cloud partner, CTC will leverage the power of the Microsoft Cloud and its AI capabilities to better meet customer demand and deliver more seamless and personalised digital experiences for shoppers across Canada.”
