Crestron Electronics has revealed new intelligent features for its Microsoft Teams Rooms Device, Automate VX, at Microsoft Ignite.
Automate VX, a certified Teams solution for large and extra-large meeting rooms, uses multiple optical zoom cameras to deliver an equitable meeting experience for all attendees, with a clear view of everyone in the room.

The new update adds facial and torso detection intelligence to Automate VX, allowing the cameras to track body movements and reframe participants based on their position within a frame. For example, if a chair slides to the left or a participant moves in their seat, Automate VX will detect those motions and reframe the participants so they remain centred in the shot.
“While intelligent video solutions and equitable meeting experiences have been top of mind for many organisations the past few years, the market has struggled to find a way to solve for large meeting rooms and multipurpose spaces,” said Sam Kennedy, senior director of product marketing at Crestron. “Our customers need to replicate the seamless collaboration that has been mastered in the smaller rooms and scale that to their boardrooms and training rooms. Automate VX is a true standout among multi-camera solutions for simplifying these challenging spaces and bringing that consistent meeting experience to these highly valuable rooms.”
