Microsoft partner and cybersecurity provider CyberProof has identified the most persistent types of cyberattacks, including attacker behaviour and how to prevent it, in the third issue of its Cyber Defenders Playbook 2023.

The report provides real-life examples of five cyberattack scenarios including ransomware incidents by cyberhacking group BlackCat, Amazon Web Services resource hijacking, double-bounce email spoofing, SocGholishing, which is a fake browser update malware campaign, and Raspberry Robins, a cyberthreat that is often installed via USB drives. It also details how to manage, respond and prevent these types of attacks.

According to the CyberProof team, firms and individuals can prevent cyberattacks by taking a collaborative approach to problem-solving, where security teams can minimise the time to detect and carry out a response.
