Finnish baseball teams Suomen Pesäpalloliitto and Superpesis are to launch a new Pesis app built on an audience engagement platform from Wallasvaara and a cloud-based mobile payment solution from PayiQ.

Initially, the companies will use the Audience Engage and PayiQ solutions to create an app that will serve as a mobile substitute for the existing free pass system offered to certain customers. Throughout the season, new features will be added so the Pesis app can become a versatile service channel for all the women’s teams and men’s teams. It will be used to develop game experiences, as well as to generate supplementary sales opportunities and new possibilities for partner cooperation.

“We’re happy to start cooperation with Wallasvaara and PayiQ,” said Jussi Pyysalo, marketing and communications director of Superpesis. “Mobile tools play an integral role in the strategy for the future of the unique Finnish Pesäpalloliitto [a fast-moving bat-and-ball sport]. They will be used to help grow the number of recreational players and develop the operating conditions of the clubs. Pesis app will be launched on the Audience Engage platform and we are hoping that during this season it will become a versatile interaction tool that serves the whole baseball family.”

PayiQ and Wallasvaara have previously collaborated on similar service packages for the Paavo Nurmi Games 2017 track and field games, football club FC Inter Turku and volleyball club Hurrikaani.

“We’re very pleased to continue working with Wallasvaara and expand to another sport,” said Tuomo Parjanen, CEO of PayiQ. “Our cloud-based ticketing-as-a-service platform enables the creation of very diverse ticketing services for various service providers. With our award-winning technology it’s fast and easy to create wholly new kinds of service concepts and to combine different services.”
