IRX’s Grace Murphy shares how retailers can simplify multiple business activities with automation technology

Automation is already helping organisations to carry out multiple business activities. It has steadily infiltrated a growing number of global industries and sectors in recent years and has proven to achieve successful results thus far, particularly in retail.

There are five key ways that organisations can implement automation to help with daily business activities.

  1. Investing in employee benefits software

In today’s increasingly digital landscape, providing employee benefits is no longer an option for employers and business owners but a necessity. It can allow businesses to attract and retain talented individuals from within their industry and stand out from the crowd against their competitors, but it can also command a great deal of businesses’ time, patience and effort to maintain. Investing in an employee benefits software, however, allows businesses to continue ensuring employees are happy and healthy at work with little to no manual intervention.

  1. Introducing an external communications platform

Businesses that are struggling to find the time to maintain regular communication with customers or clients will benefit from introducing an external communications platform, which can send follow-up emails with key reminders, news updates and upcoming developments without human involvement. This can be used within retail, if a customer expresses interest in a particular good, service or product, or if a significant amount of time has passed since they last interacted with the website or mobile app.

  1. Incorporating travel planning and scheduling technology

Travel planning and scheduling technology will streamline daily business activities for employees who embark on regular business trips. It can allow employees to schedule and expense upcoming business trips with ease whilst adhering to the rules, regulations and budgets set by their companies ahead of time. This can free up valuable time to focus on daily tasks relating to the running of the business as opposed to wasting time on unnecessary, mundane or time-consuming activities.

  1. Computerising your human resource department

In the wider business world, human resources are an integral component of any organisation regardless of how large or small it may be. By computerising the human resource department, employees can provide their personal details quickly and easily through an online medium to calculate their tax benefits and benefits withholdings with ease. It can also give employees the opportunity to personally schedule their holiday days in accordance with company-wide rules and regulations in relation to staffing needs at various points throughout the year, something which can be particularly time-consuming to organise within retail.

  1. Scheduling social media content ahead of time

If a business struggles to find the time to post content on social media on a regular basis, scheduling social media content ahead of time with a digital marketing automation system can allow it to maintain an online presence with minimal effort on your part. It can also help businesses manage posts across different social media platforms with different content suiting different audiences.

Employee benefits software will allow for the automation of daily business activities such as introducing an external communications platform, incorporating travel planning and scheduling technology, computerising human resource departments and scheduling social media content ahead of time.

Delegates from solution providers that can automate business activities such as these will be available to talk to at IRX between 11 and 12 May 2022.
