Converged ICT service provider GCI has successfully integrated Microsoft 365 and the Microsoft Azure cloud at Hutchesons’ Grammar, a private school in Scotland. The school will use the tools to help students work more effectively.
Microsoft 365 and Azure have replaced the previous network, servers and storage systems, with Windows 10 running on the on-site laptops. Students are now able to work more effectively and faculty members can work remotely and securely.
“We were confident that GCI were the right choice due to their accreditations and expertise in delivering Microsoft solutions,” said head of computing services at Hutchesons’, Jonathan Caddy. “I am pleased to say that we now have an infrastructure that is secure and robust, and that can scale easily as we expand. Additionally, Microsoft 365 has also allowed us to empower both staff and students with the latest technology, and thanks to EMS we know that data and devices are kept locked down to only the people that need access. I look forward to many more years of working with GCI.”
Hutchesons’ adoption of mobile working practices will see the fixed computers replaced with laptops for teachers and pupils, with the supporting cloud technology providing round-the-clock access to the school’s system, enhancing security and scalability.
Office 365 has already proven popular with features such as OneDrive offering closer communications and collaborations between students and staff, but the partial move to Azure also means that the infrastructure is more capable of handling the growing amount of work.
