Generative artificial intelligence is forecasted to grow by 86 per cent from 2022 to 2027, according to a new IDC report, commissioned by Microsoft.

The ‘Microsoft Partners: Driving Economic Value and AI Maturity’ study, which surveyed over 600 Microsoft partners globally, also found that for every $1 of Microsoft revenue, service-led partners earn $8.45 whilst software-led partners earn $10.93.

Furthermore, the study found that partners engaged with Microsoft generate a high average ratio of revenue from their own services. This is further accelerated by AI: 81 per cent of partners agree that Microsoft AI will increase their Microsoft-related revenue and 71 per cent agree that it will increase their Microsoft-related profit.

“As we look toward Microsoft’s 50th year, we remain committed to empowering every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more,” said Nicole Dezen, chief partner officer and corporate vice president of global partner solutions at Microsoft in a blog post. “We are proud to lead AI transformation and deliver a trustworthy AI platform for customers and partners to enhance their services, increase productivity and drive business success.”
