Hitachi Construction Machinery (HCM) is using Microsoft Dynamics 365-based solution Annata 365 to strengthen its global after-sales services.
For the past 30 years, HCM has been expanding its overseas production, sales and business operations. In 2019, with the creation of its new Connect Together 2019 management plan, the company started to shift its focus from new car sales to after-sales, in an effort to improve resiliency for the future. At the same time, it was approaching a deadline for renewing its enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution.
HCM had also been looking into how it could reach global system unification using cloud services. By leveraging Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as an on-premises ERP, Annata 365 was, according to HCM, “an ERP that fits the needs of the automobile and construction machinery industry”.
Annata said that HCM “has improved profitability and reduced resistance to change”, in a customer story about the partnership.
HCM is now working on a unified ERP project that employs cloud services. “By unifying its ERP, from collecting information at the head office in Japan to analysing and using the data in near-real time, the company also aims to rationalise the transactions and inventory for construction machinery and parts among its overseas group companies,” said Annata. “Annata 365 was selected as the best cloud service partner to meet this goal.”
