Microsoft has unveiled Azure Quantum at Ignite 2019. The full-stack, open cloud ecosystem is designed to bring the benefits of quantum computing to people and organisations around the world. It has been developed in collaboration with partners including 1QBit, Honeywell, IonQ, and QCI.
“We’re assembling the most diverse set of quantum solutions, software, and hardware across the industry, in Azure,” said the Microsoft Quantum team in a blog post. “With Azure Quantum, our ambition is to empower every developer and every organisation to experience quantum impact at every stage of this quantum revolution – today and tomorrow.”
“We're excited to see Azure Quantum customers run their programs on IonQ quantum computers for the first time,” said Peter Chapman, CEO of IonQ. "We've seen a ton of excitement from all corners about our ion-based approach and are thrilled to expand access to our quantum capabilities through Microsoft's network.”
