According to Check Point’s Mark Eastman, AI tools are helping organisations to enhance security administration, incident mitigation and response

One in every 10 organisations worldwide was hit by attempted ransomware attacks in 2023, according to Check Point Software Technologies Research. Organisations also experienced an average of 60,000 cyberattacks throughout the year. At the same time, there is a shortage of skilled practitioners globally. It can be difficult and stressful to secure networks and data effectively in this environment, but artificial intelligence-powered tools can help.

AI-powered tools can significantly reduce the time required for routine tasks, empowering security teams to focus on strategic innovation instead. For example, Check Point’s Infinity AI Copilot, available in preview from January 2024, saves up to 90 per cent of the time needed for administrative work for security tasks, including event analysis, implementation and troubleshooting. This allows security professionals to dedicate more time to strategic innovation.

Automation features enable users to manage, modify and automatically deploy access rules and security controls, specific to each end-user’s policy. Plus, incident mitigation and response procedures can be improved by leveraging AI to search for threats, analyse any existing or potential damage, and suggest resolutions. Trained on 30 years of end-to-end cybersecurity intelligence, Infinity AI Copilot provides a powerful ally to security teams. With the power of generative AI, Infinity AI Copilot acts as both an administrative and analytical assistant, automating complex security tasks and providing proactive solutions to security threats.

In addition, AI is helping to address the growing global shortage of cybersecurity practitioners by boosting the efficiency and effectiveness of security teams. Natural language processing, powered by generative AI, can provide answers to security-based questions sent by employees and customers, freeing up time for security teams to focus on other tasks. Infinity AI Copilot can understand questions like “Is this a spam email and should I report it?” and respond via chat in any language.

With Infinity AI Copilot, Check Point is contributing to the new era of cybersecurity where human-machine collaboration takes centre stage. Our vision is to enable security teams to work in harmony with AI, unlocking unprecedented efficiency and accuracy. We believe in a future where security is no longer a challenge but a seamless part of every organisation’s operations.
