Enterprise internet infrastructure provider Meter has entered a multi-year partnership with Microsoft with the aim of advancing high-performance networking systems.

The partnership will focus on three key areas, with the first being investment. Microsoft will support Meter as it develops new networking hardware and software and offer design and performance expertise.

The second focus is on advanced computing. Meter is currently working to fully integrate with Microsoft’s Azure AI computing infrastructure, which will help it gain significant computing and performance abilities for training custom models. The first stage of this will be moving Command, its generative user interface product.

The final focus is on market expansion. Meter will use the Microsoft Azure Marketplace to create new channels to promote, sell and distribute its products to more customers.

“As AI continues to reshape our world, modernising global networking infrastructure isn't just important – it’s imperative,” said Jason Graefe, corporate vice president of independent software vendors and digital natives at Microsoft. “Meter’s vision for faster, more resilient, and secure networks represents the kind of ambitious thinking needed to drive the industry forward. We’re backing Meter’s bold mission to rebuild networking from the ground up and transform an essential industry.”
