Microsoft has bundled some its top business products together to create a new offering called Microsoft 365, which will be available to buy from next month.

A successor to Secure Productive Enterprise – launched by the company this time last year – Microsoft 365 brings together Office 365 and Windows 10 alongside various security and management features for businesses to purchase in a single subscription.

Microsoft has said that the aim of the new service is to provide businesses with a complete productivity and security solution, while helping them to streamline IT management.

There are two versions of the service that businesses can get their hands on: Microsoft 365 Enterprise and Microsoft 365 Business.

Microsoft 365 Enterprise is aimed at large organisations and includes Office 365 Enterprise, Windows 10 Enterprise and Enterprise Mobility + Security. Microsoft has said that it provides the “broadest and deepest set of apps and services with a universal toolkit for teamwork, giving people flexibility and choice in how they connect, share and communicate.”

Both plans – Microsoft 365 E3 and Microsoft 365 E5 – will be available to buy at the beginning of August.

Microsoft 365 Business is geared more for smaller businesses – those with up to 300 users. It includes Office 365 Business Premium, security and management features for Office apps and Windows 10 devices, all managed in a centralised console for deploying and securing devices and users in one location.

It will be available to preview on 2 August and will become generally available worldwide this autumn, priced at US$20 per user, per month.
