Microsoft and Lenovo have partnered to introduce new Microsoft Cloud-powered productivity features to the Windows 365 application for Android devices.
The Enhanced Windows 365 App Experience has been built as a plug-and-play application for the ThinkPhone by Motorola. It has been designed to enhance mobile productivity by accommodating “a wide range of users across different situations and business contexts”, according to Catalin Ionescu, client executive and Sneha Sultania, senior product manager from Microsoft in a blog post titled ‘Enhanced Windows 365 App Experience – Re-imagining mobile productivity’ on the Microsoft website.
The Enhanced Windows 365 App Experience is compatible with various monitors and peripheral devices, which allows users to transform their Android smartphone into a portable productivity hub. Users are able to securely stream the full Windows experience from the Microsoft Cloud to ThinkPhone devices, giving them the versatility of a PC wherever they are working, whether that is remotely in a virtual office or as a frontline employee in the field.
The new feature also gives users continued access to Android smartphone applications while working on the cloud PC on the connected display, meaning users can still make and take calls, send and receive messages, or check social media feeds without disrupting workflows on the Cloud PC session.
Microsoft hope to bring the Enhanced Windows 365 App Experience to other Android devices in the future.
