Microsoft Ignite is underway in Chicago, USA, where a host of Microsoft partners have showcased their latest solutions and innovations across 800 sessions, demonstrations and expert-led labs.

Educational technology company Multiverse launched its AI-Powered Productivity apprenticeship, the UK’s first accredited apprenticeship to train participants to use Microsoft 365 Copilot in their job roles. The new apprenticeship aims to teach people the skills they need to boost their output using Copilot, while helping them to understand the ethical and data protection implications of using AI. The programme, which is suitable for people with different job roles and levels of experience, is part of Multiverse’s efforts to support Microsoft’s Get On campaign, which aims to equip one million people with the skills for the artificial-intelligence-enabled economy by 2025.

“We know that generative AI will unlock a surge of productivity in UK businesses, but it requires a combination of the right tools and the right skills to be successful,” said Euan Blair, CEO of Multiverse. “That’s why businesses that want to win in the AI age must make a deliberate effort to upskill and reskill workers with what they need to harness this opportunity. We’re taking market-leading tools like Copilot and empowering workers to drive real outcomes using them.”

C3 AI has expanded its partnership with Microsoft to accelerate the adoption of its Enterprise AI application on Microsoft Azure. The two companies will engage in a broad range of strategic initiatives, including product development roadmap alignment sessions to ensure Enterprise AI continuously evolves with Azure’s capabilities. C3 AI will also make its full suite of Enterprise AI application software, including C3 Generative AI, readily available on the Microsoft Commercial Cloud Portal to enhance customer access.

In addition, C3 AI and Microsoft will also co-host webinars, sales training, joint solution offerings, joint selling, and collaborative marketing campaigns to promote their integrated solutions.

“C3 AI has pioneered Enterprise AI for over a decade, accelerated by collaboration with Microsoft to enable iconic organisations to solve some of the hardest business challenges of the 21st century,” said Thomas M. Siebel, chairman and CEO of C3 AI. “This strategic alliance accelerates the adoption of Enterprise AI, benefiting customers with broadly available enterprise AI application software to achieve rapid time-to-value in supply chain optimisation, production optimisation, predictive maintenance, government efficiency, environmental, social and governance goal attainment and energy management.”

Asset management firm BlackRock will move its on-premises customer relationship management solution to the cloud with Microsoft Dynamics 365. The company, which has been in partnership with Microsoft since 2020 cited integration with Microsoft Teams and Outlook as one of its primary decision-making factors for the move. BlackRock moved its Aladdin platform to Microsoft Azure four years ago, and now around 60 per cent of its Copilot user population is leveraging the tool on a weekly basis.
