At Hannover Messe 2024, a range of Microsoft partners took to the exhibition floor to showcase their latest solutions and innovations for the manufacturing industry.

On the Microsoft booth, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) showcased its industry copilots for factory operations, which blends generative artificial intelligence, machine learning and the cloud to help workers with day-to-day operations. It also showcased its TCS digital manufacturing platform, which helps manufacturing organisations to connect assets, operations, supply chain and workers into a seamless neural data fabric.

Also on the Microsoft stand, experts from PTC demonstrated how the organisation helped wind turbine supplier Vestas implement an end-to-end digital thread using PTC solutions that integrates computer-aided design, application lifecycle management, service lifecycle management, augmented reality and more.

Elsewhere at Hannover Messe, SAP revealed new AI advancements for its supply chain solutions that will help its customers improve their business operations. The improvements include AI-driven insights, a copilot that helps streamline product development, detection of equipment anomalies and machine learning-trained models that use real-time traffic data to optimise driving routes and allocate job assignments.

Furthermore, Bluestar showcased its new engineering bill of materials (eBOM) and manufacturing bill of materials (mBOM) module, which is integrated into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management. The module allows organisations to automatically synchronise different BOMs and ensure that site-specific needs are met whilst maintaining consistency.

Meanwhile, The OPC Foundation unveiled its new initiative that aims to boost interoperability across IT and cloud platforms. The OPC UA Cloud Initiative is currently being supported by Microsoft SAP and other manufacturing organisations, and collaboration will help initiate new working groups for cloud-centric applications.
