Microsoft recently showcased its Dynamics 365 Business Central solution at Directions Asia 2018, which took place in Bangkok, Thailand, from 15-16 March 2018.
The event provided an opportunity for Dynamics partners to gain insight into the newly-released solution. Microsoft showcased both the cloud opportunities with Business Central and other Microsoft cloud offerings that can boost the growth of the Dynamics partner business.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is the next evolution of the end-to-end and mature Dynamics NAV product. It is based on an all-in-one enterprise resource planning system with finance, purchasing, sales, marketing, warehousing, service, manufacturing and human resources functionalities.
The solution’s modern user interface (UI) ensures more screen space, optimised and more actionable navigation and information accessible directly from the front page. The solution includes embedded Power BI capabilities, and the UI itself can be personalised by the user within an WYSIWYG interface which allows the user to view something similar to the end result while the document is being created. Business Central also offers customisation capabilities for partners.
Business Central‘s integration with Office 365 has also been improved, especially the e-mail integration. With tight integration between e-mail and Business Central customers, contacts, quotes, orders and invoices, a sales person can use the solution without leaving Outlook. Users can perform Business Central-related tasks directly in Outlook.
As an on-Azure platform and a Microsoft business application, Business Central offers capabilities for integration with other Azure services and the Power Platform encompassing Power BI, Power App and flow. This helps customers gain insight into their business and build small custom apps, as well as set up flow logics across departments, applications and data without starting a big development project.
