Microsoft will highlight how its AI and cloud technologies are transforming the sports industry at NAB 2025, which takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada, on 5-9 April.
Alongside key partners, Microsoft will showcase solutions that enhance athlete performance, streamline broadcasting and media integration opportunities, enhance fan engagement with real-time insights and support secure data storage.
For example, Microsoft’s technology is helping sports organisations like the Women’s World Cup of Tennis make decisions in real-time for athletes with cloud-based solutions. The Billie Jean King Cup uses a match insights application, hosted on Azure, to deliver gameplay data, such as player movement, ball trajectories and shot accuracy. Plus, the AI-powered analytics in Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service analyse datasets to help coaches anticipate opponent strategies and make informed decisions.
“We are thrilled to demonstrate how Microsoft and our partners are using AI and cloud solutions to redefine the sports experience – from optimising game-day strategies to delivering personalised fan engagement,” said Silvia Candiani, vice president of worldwide telecommunications, media and gaming at Microsoft, in a Microsoft blog titled ‘How Microsoft is transforming sports with cutting-edge technology’.

AT NAB 2025, attendees can explore interactive demonstrations that bring these innovations to life, showing how Microsoft’s technology is shaping the future of sports media and entertainment.
Alongside the Billie Jean King Cup, Microsoft will feature case studies and real-world applications of its technology including NFL, BWT Alpine Formula One Team, LALIGA and NBA.
