At the recent Computex Taipei event in Taiwan, Microsoft showcased how it is leveraging the intelligent cloud and intelligent edge by announcing several new solutions and devices designed to encourage new growth, collaboration and opportunity.

Roanne Sones, Microsoft’s corporate vice president for Platforms, shared information about a new intelligent edge partner community which aims to accelerate innovation in this new era. According to an official Microsoft press release, the community will help partners connect with one another to identify opportunities to collaborate on technology innovation and achieve shared business goals. In addition, community members will be able to participate in training and community events and can participate in early adopter programmes that provide access to documentation, specs, OS builds and certification details.

Sones also outlined new Windows IoT core services that are designed to help Microsoft IoT partners to create solutions to address their customers’ needs. With these services, users will be able to build a device built on Windows 10 IoT Core and know that they have the enterprise-grade support and security that is synonymous with Windows.

Also at the event, Nick Parker, corporate vice president for Consumer and Device Sales at Microsoft, unveiled a new category of devices called Windows Collaboration Displays.

“These large, interactive displays will let people experience Microsoft 365 collaboration tools: Office, Teams and Whiteboard at room scale and include built-in sensors that can connect to Azure IoT spatial intelligence capabilities,” said Parker in a recent blog post. “This incredible technology will allow facility managers to utilise environmental data to make real-time decisions. A variety of collaboration displays, from Sharp and Avocor will be available later this year.”
