Microsoft has expanded its Azure OpenAI Service to provide more businesses around the world with generative artificial intelligence capabilities through models such as GPT-4 and GPT-35-Turbo.
The new live regions are in Australia East, Canada East, East USA 2, Japan East and UK South, joining the existing availability in East USA, France Central, South Central USA and West Europe.
“The response to Azure OpenAI Service has been phenomenal, with our customer base nearly tripling since our last disclosure,” said Microsoft’s Nidhi Chappell, general manager of Azure AI Infrastructure, and Eric Boyd, corporate vice president of AI Platform, in a blog post titled ‘Scale generative AI with new Azure AI infrastructure advancements and availability’. “We now proudly serve over 11,000 customers, attracting an average of 100 new customers daily this quarter. This remarkable growth is a testament to the value our service brings to businesses eager to harness the potential of AI for their unique needs.”
Microsoft has also debuted the ND H100 v5 Virtual Machine (VM) series, which is now generally available in the East USA and South Central USA Azure regions. The NDH100 v5 VMs are equipped with eight NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core graphics processing units to provide faster AI model performance, low-latency networking, and large-scale memory and bandwidth.
