The GSMA, in partnership with CTIA, has successfully held the first edition of MWC Las Vegas. The event welcomed 8,200 attendees, which is double the number that visited the Los Angeles event in 2021.
Attendees from nearly 100 countries convened with more than 300 exhibiting companies, and 300 conference and partner speakers. During the event’s sessions, there was a strong focus on the local entrepreneurial start-up community with the launch of the HUB, which featured 32 exhibiting start-ups.
“It is wonderful to bring MWC to the vibrant city of Las Vegas and to witness first-hand the excitement, energy, and enthusiasm among our community,” said John Hoffman, CEO of GSMA. “During these past three days we have seen important conversations about technologies, innovations and policies, and the impact they have on business and society.
“On behalf of the GSMA, I would like to thank all our attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, and partners who came together to make MWC Las Vegas so productive and successful.”
A space called Industry City also featured, with demonstrations, networking and content zones showcasing solutions across fintech, manufacturing, smart mobility and the metaverse.
MWC Africa will take place on 25-27 October, followed by MWC Barcelona on 27 February – 2 March 2022, and MWC Las Vegas on 26-28 October 2023.
