This year’s MWC Shanghai on 26-38 June is expected to welcome over 60,000 mobile industry executives, with a range of programmes exploring the future of mobile, the importance of women in tech and carbon neutrality.
The event is returning with an expanded programme addressing the gender gap in the industry with the Women4Tech Programme. The Women4Tech Summit will offer keynote presentations and panel discussions about gender equality, career development, mentoring and more. The programme also includes the Women4Tech Speed Coaching and Networking session; a Women4Tech AMO award for “Outstanding Achievement in Mobile Industry Leadership”; and additional Women4Tech activities at 4YFN.
Covering seven halls at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), over 550 companies will showcase the latest products, services and technologies that are shaping the future of mobile in a carbon neutral environment.
MWC Shanghai 2018 was officially certified by the British Standards Institution as carbon neutral, reinforcing its position as the largest carbon neutral exhibition and conference in Asia. The event made efforts to reduce emissions by recycling carpets and reducing paper consumption, as well as supporting United Nations-certified projects in China.
The thousands of attendees can also immerse themselves in technology-led experiences at the GSMA Innovation City, which will be a highlight of the 2019 event. These experiences can illustrate how intelligently connected products and services are improving the daily lives of citizens and businesses.
