Microsoft Azure Arc is delivering a 304 per cent return on investment (ROI) for organisations across a range of industries including manufacturing, retail, transportation and logistics, sports and live experiences and government.
The ROI was reported by Forrester in a new study commissioned by Microsoft, The Total Economic Impact of Microsoft Azure Arc With Cloud-Based Management Services, which also found that Azure Arc provides a 30 per cent gain in IT operations by providing complete asset inventory, security and governance, and reduces the risk of a security breach by 50 per cent with access to services like Azure Monitor, Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Sentinel.
Azure Arc enables users to build applications and services within the Azure platform at that can run across data centres, at the edge and multi-cloud environments. For example, energy company Chevron is analysing data from physical operations at remote facilities at the edge with Azure Arc, Spanish football league La Liga is improving its security by centralising management of its on-premises and cloud environments with Azure Arc, and Louisiana State Government is using the tool to gain full visibility of its operational investments.
“Azure Arc addresses key challenges organisations face in centrally managing their diverse and vast IT infrastructure, such as gaining visibility across infrastructure, increased administrative costs with multiple tools, difficulty in enforcing security standards and costly extended security update processes,” said Omar Khan, vice president of Azure infrastructure marketing at Microsoft, in a Microsoft blog post titled ‘Forrester Total Economic Impact study: A 304% ROI within 3 years using Azure Arc’.
