UK-based IT automation firm PowerON has partnered with the University of Northampton to deliver the full suite of Microsoft System Centre solutions as part of its new smart campus programme in advance of its move to a new £330 million Waterside Campus in September 2018.
“Technology is a key enabler for the new campus and Microsoft System Centre, which is an all-encompassing management solution, is a key component,” said Philip Mercer, managing director of PowerON “Delivering this via our cloud management appliance gave us a competitive edge, as it provided an operationally ready system out of the box, which could then be further enhanced and customised. The University of Northampton is one of the first institutions to deploy the full system centre suite. By adopting such a modern suite of management tools, in line with the transition to the new modern campus, the technology will support it in delivering a fully unified approach across its operations.”
By embracing the latest technology available, the university aims to become a digital leader in UK higher education.
“The University believes the partnership with PowerON will future proof the new campus allowing us to meet the changing needs and demands of students,” said Rob Palfreman, head of IT at the University of Northampton.
