Microsoft partners aim to improve media production for companies of all sizes

Microsoft partners Producer and Prime Focus Technologies (PFT) have teamed up to improve production solutions for their joint customers by integrating artificial intelligence and cloud technology, powered by Microsoft Azure.

The growing trend of companies producing in-house content is one of the driving forces behind this collaboration, according to Producer. Businesses are realising the benefits of owning their content creation process from cost savings to greater control over brand messaging. Producer – Maker Machina is a cloud-based workflow management platform that allows creatives in the media industry to create, schedule and manage content.

“Our mission has always been to empower content creators with tools that make their workflows more efficient,” said Xaver Walser, CEO of Producer. “This collaboration with PFT on Azure allows us to take that vision further by offering a comprehensive platform that serves everyone – from small production houses to Fortune 500 companies.”

“Prime Focus Technologies is thrilled to work with Producer,” said Patricio Cummins, senior vice president and head of global technology sales at PFT. “Our combined technologies will enable media enterprises to overcome existing inefficiencies, scale rapidly and respond to new industry challenges.”

Simon Crownshaw, worldwide strategy director of media and entertainment at Microsoft, said: “At the heart of the partnership is Azure’s ability to provide robust cloud computing and AI services to the media industry. We are committed to advancing media technology with cloud-based solutions. Azure enables the scalability, security and speed required to handle large-scale media workflows.”
