On 25 September, Microsoft will be playing a key role in some of the sessions at Sibos 2019.
At 10 a.m., corporate vice president and treasurer George Zinn will discuss how global corporation expansions have caused heightened requirements and the complexity this brings with it. In the session ‘SWIFT gpi: Creating value for corporates’, Zinn will also explore the idea that banks need to act fast to provide efficient cross-border payments, and how the new global payments standard – SWIFT gpi – could be the answer.
Meanwhile, chief security advisor of Microsoft EMEA Siân John will join a discussion on ‘Have new business models created a perfect cybersecurity storm?’ While banks have come a long way in the past decade in identifying fraudulent cybercriminal, real-time transactions might be a roadblock to continue this success. The session will take place at 11 a.m.
Jon Farmer, Microsoft’s marketing director for financial services, will be speaking about protecting sensitive information from insider risks. Attendees can learn how to identify and manage these risks and minimise the negative impact on corporate compliance, competitive business position and brand reputation.
Sibos will be also be highlighting the importance of female leadership in finance with the Women of the World networking event at 5 p.m. on 25 September. The event returns for its second year to celebrate history’s inspirational women, and will feature speeches from a number of VIPs, including writer, actor and activist Sandi Toksvig.
