Microsoft and the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) are combining their cloud, data, analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities to develop innovative solutions that will help the financial services industry to enhance productivity and transform the customer experience.
Matthew Kerner, corporate vice president of Microsoft Industry Clouds, gave an insight into how Microsoft and LSEG are collaborating to offer joint customers a connected solution with a cloud-based data architecture that integrates LSEG data sets with AI-powered modelling services built on Microsoft Azure.
“With our partnership, we seek to help our customers climb the value chain by bringing these complementary assets together,” said Kerner. “We will transform financial services workflows to help finance and investment professionals improve decisions, communications and productivity while maintaining regulatory compliance.”
Dmitri Sedov, global group head of data intelligence at LSEG, joined Kerner at the session. They gave an insight into how Microsoft and LSEG’s 10-year partnership will evolve, explaining how they plan to deliver intelligent analytics solutions that will soon be available in Microsoft 365 to help financial services organisations improve the customer experience. One example cited was the new Python to Excel capabilities in Microsoft Excel. Banks will also be able to unify their data by connecting with counterparties through Microsoft Teams and having access to data intelligence via Microsoft 365 Copilot.
In addition, Sedov highlighted how open architecture can enable banks and their customers to interact with data better.
“Open architecture gives as much information as needed to serve customers,” he said. “The beauty of this platform is to free up time…so that financial services providers can focus on the things that they do well, which is to manage data.
“We are combining Microsoft’s dependable and scalable infrastructure with the breadth and depth of LSEG’s trusted high-quality data and IP safeguards. Together we are shaping a future where technology supercharges our customers’ workflows and insights reliably, effectively and responsibly.”
