The Winter 2019 issue of The Record is out now and available to view free of charge in digital format.
This issue of the magazine is released just as retailers from around the globe gather in New York for the annual NRF Big Show, an event which The Record has actively supported for many years.
As the retail team at Microsoft puts together the finishing touches to its partner village at the event, we talk with the National Retail Federation’s senior vice president for conferences, Susan Newman, about her view of the modern retail landscape and her predictions for the year ahead. You’ll find that conversation on page 100.
Before NRF gets underway, Microsoft’s automotive team will be presenting its latest solutions and products to delegates at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, US. This edition of The Record will be available at the event and, for the first time, will carry a main feature on the topic of innovation within the automotive sector. We talk with Sanjay Ravi, the worldwide general manager of this recently formed division, along with a selection of Microsoft’s key partners for the sector, about the tools that Microsoft technology is delivering to enable exciting advances in the automotive world. Our feature begins on page 56 and is the precursor to a regular dedicated automotive section in all editions of the magazine throughout 2020 and beyond.
We’re delighted to once again be including Gavriella Schuster in our cover story. As corporate vice president of Microsoft’s One Commercial Partner group, Schuster’s deep understanding of the global partner ecosystem puts her in the perfect position to offer advice for those embarking on a digital transformation initiative and assessing which technology provider they want to work with. Find out more on page 30.
Meanwhile, our interview with Bob De Haven, Microsoft’s general manager of worldwide communications and media starting on page 68 offers a compelling snapshot of the advances that Microsoft is bringing to the world of communications and media. De Haven cites specific examples of recent work with Disney Studios whilst also offering insight into impending regulatory changes that are likely to have an impact upon the industry in the coming year.
As always, there’s something for everybody in another busy edition of The Record, from features and executive interviews to case studies, thought-leadership perspectives and news coverage from all areas of both commercial and civic activity around the world.
Enjoy the read!
