Turbonomic unveils new capabilities for Microsoft Azure

Solutions will help customers accelerate cloud migration and optimise workloads

Turbonomic, the provider of workload automation solutions for hybrid cloud, has unveiled new capabilities that help customers accelerate cloud migration and optimise workloads in Microsoft Azure environments.

New reserved instance (RI) purchasing capabilities for Microsoft Azure Hybrid Benefit and Azure site recovery (ASR) integration deliver fast and accurate cloud assessments for Azure customers.

Turbonomic is an artificial intelligence (AI) powered platform that enables workloads to self-manage, anywhere, in real-time to assure application performance at the lowest cost while enforcing business policies, both on-premises and in the public cloud. With its latest capabilities, Turbonomic delivers the ability for customers to maximise Microsoft’s Azure Hybrid Benefit, saving them up to 80% on Windows services and 55% on SQL Server.

By leveraging the Azure Hybrid Benefit, customers can make a compelling business case for migrating to Azure. Turbonomic’s RI purchasing capabilities and out-of-the-box support for Azure Hybrid Benefit prepare customers for minimising their footprint and cost on Azure. Additionally, Turbonomic now offers Azure Site Recovery integration, generating detailed plans to inform the right migration decisions.

This comes following the news that, recognising Turbonomic’s unique ability to help organisations assess, migrate and optimise cloud deployments with a single software platform, Microsoft has selected Turbonomic as a preferred partner to help customers prepare for Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 end of support.

“With the depth and breadth of choices that Microsoft Azure offers, customers need to make the right decisions about how and where to place and size workloads, from planning to ongoing optimisation,” said Bill Veghte, executive chairman at Turbonomic. “Turbonomic is excited to be a Microsoft preferred partner in helping customers assess and then plan their cloud journey – optimising their on-premises and Azure workloads to get the highest performance at the lowest cost while ensuring compliance with business policy. Turbonomic’s new innovations make it faster, easier and even clearer for customers as they prepare their plans for the impending end of support for Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008.”

The company will showcase its new capabilities next week, during Microsoft Ignite 2018 (booth #315). Additionally, Turbonomic Cloud chief technology officer Mor Cohen, will present ‘Seven Days to Azure: Assess, Migrate & Optimize for Windows & SQL Server 2008 Prior to End of Support’ on September 26th at 1:40 PM ET from Expo Theater 3. Cohen will also be participating in multiple Microsoft Migration Classroom presentations, which will take place within the Azure migration booth over the course of the event.
