Data management and business intelligence solution provider ClearPeaks has enhanced its Advanced SharePoint Indexer following updates to Power Automate from the Microsoft Power Platform.
The solution allows organisations to navigate their SharePoint repositories with custom columns and tags for files and folders. Businesses can then use the extracted metadata in Power BI to enable a more complete search function.
Advanced SharePoint Indexer previously used a combination of Power Automate, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Azure Blob Storage and Power BI, but updates to Power Automate – which have introduced better compatibility with SharePoint – have rendered Azure Data Factory and Azure Function surplus to requirement.
Now, Power Automate can periodically scan SharePoint for changes, such a file deletion. It also simplifies the process as less services are needed, while providing near real-time registry of files. This improves data ingestion in Power BI as data is now coming from a single source.
