Nunavut covers one-fifth of the country and crosses three time zones. Its government provides services to 39,000 residents in 25 remote communities with no roads between them. The Information Communications and Technology team in Nunavut’s Department of Community and Government Services worked with Microsoft to roll out Windows 365 to help maintain remote government operations during Covid-19 and as part of a larger strategic initiative to provide more efficient community services to the people of Nunavut. “We’re very proud to be a part of Windows 365,” said Dean Wells, chief information officer at Nunavut’s Department of Community and Government Services. “With this technology, we can provide rapid, highly secure access to community resources and expertise that we couldn’t provide before – and improve the quality of life in Nunavut communities.”
