AVD is optimised for Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 365, including Teams, and improved security, with proactive threat detection and remedial actions available as standard. The partnership reduced the cost of using AVD by leveraging the university’s entitlement to Microsoft 365 licensing. In addition, Servent ensured that virtual machines were appropriately sized, would be shut down when not in use and restarted to cater for the demand. Meeting technology provider Decisions is helping RinkNet, a leader in hockey scouting software, to deliver more effective meetings. RinkNet, used by the many leagues including the US National Hockey League and European Champions Hockey League, has been using Decisions’ tools to build more collaborative meeting agendas. “There are some apps that enable you to create an agenda, but it’s a static agenda,” said Dan Halliburton, vice president of RinkNet. “People can’t contribute or be a part of making it.” With Decisions’ live-agenda feature, RinkNet meeting attendees can contribute, upload attachments and embed links directly into the agenda, ensuring all information is current. Decisions helps RinkNet reach its meeting goals Open Systems helps College of Southern Nevada go digital Amid a spike in online learning and cybersecurity threats, Open Systems has helped the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) in the US to securely expand its Microsoft 365 licensing. CSN deployed Open Systems’ Secure Access Secure Edge managed service and Managed Detection and Response threat containment service. As a result, CSN was able to avoid the massive expense of building a security operations centre and reduced its data centre costs by migrating systems to Microsoft Azure. The success story also helped Open Systems to earn a Microsoft Partner Network program advanced specialisation in threat protection. Open Systems is one of 40 vendors worldwide with this specialisation.
