The results show that the role of the CIO has moved away from day-to-day management and into spending more time on innovation (79 per cent), productivity (62 per cent) and strategic planning (77 per cent) to determine how technology can bring the organisation and its customers closer to achieving their business objectives. Over 73 per cent of CIOs state that the importance of customer experience has increased and over 81 per cent of CIOs believe their focus on redefining the customer experience will grow in the next five years.
