The event will focus on digitalisation and sustainability, covering how the technology industry is approaching production and protecting the environment. Delegates from the electrical and digital industry will be able to share insights, network and learn about the latest trends and innovations in automation, digitalisation, electrification and energy efficiency. Conferences and forums will be focused on the lead theme of ‘Industrial Transformation’ and explore topics including digital platforms, Industry 4.0, IT security, carbon dioxide-neutral production, artificial intelligence, machine learning, circular economy and lightweight construction. Hannover Messe will also provide guided tours for guests which will demonstrate new products and solutions. Tours will be made available based on attendees’ technological backgrounds and what they wish to learn. For example, tours are specifically designed for automation experts, machine manufacturers, energy managers and engineers, and more. Speakers at the opening ceremony on 29 May include Belit Onay, mayor and CEO of the City of Hannover; Karl Haeusgen, president of the Mechanical Engineering Industry Association; António Costa, prime minister of the Portuguese Republic; and Olaf Scholz, chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. More than 1,000 exhibitors from companies such as Microsoft, SAP, Schnieder Electric and Siemens are expected to attend. The event will also take place virtually, providing further hybrid opportunities for those unable to attend in person.
