46 47 ENERGY Sustainable Teams evangelism Dutch manufacturing company DSM implemented Microsoft Teams for its 23,000 employees through Microsoft partner Wipro. DSM has transitioned over its 100-year history from its roots in the mining industry to become a global entity active in nutrition, health, and sustainable living. The Teams implementation was aimed at improving virtual meeting facilities for staff working across 50 countries and regions. The project included launching an innovative evangelist program that provided 300 employees with Surface Pro devices with Teams installed. Building on the Teams platform, Wipro developed a chatbot for key departments to use. According to Peter Dew, Chief Digital Officer, Chief Marketing Officer at DSM, a key feature of the Teams integrated platform is its capacity to drive more effective virtual meetings. “Sustainability and being mindful of our carbon footprint are very important to us at DSM,” he explains. “Those values are fueling our Teams efforts. The company needed to drive growth by enabling greater financial automation, innovation, and efficiency. Through a network of franchises and other business associates, the company licenses group fitness programs in a range of exercise categories to nearly 20,000 health clubs in 100 countries.
